Indie Writing Workshop: Pen to Paper - Write Your First Novel In-Person

The first step in independent publishing is writing the book, so author  Carissa Andrews will give advice on creating a writing space and schedule,  brainstorming, and using computer programs that can help in the writing process. She will also cover techniques like writing sprints and projects like National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) to get words on the page. Finally, she’ll give a preview of how to start your own author platform, even if you haven’t finished your novel yet.

Have you thought about independently publishing your writing? Do you have a great idea but are bogged down in questions about self-publishing your book? The sites to you should use to publish? Or where to even get started? The Brainerd Public Library is hosting a series of six workshops led by local indie author Carissa Andrews to help you out. These free classes are for teens and adults at all stages of writing their novel or creative nonfiction work. Writers may attend one or all sessions.
